Project: « Contribute to the popularization, sale of local agrifood products processed by the women and girls of Kalabanbougou in Ma
The primary vocation of the agri-food sector is to feed people adequately by improving the availability, access and consumption of a variety of, safe and nutritious foods. Women’s groups and associations contribute to it through the local products that they transform and put on the market, however, they encounter difficulties in the sale of their products and one of the strategies to support them in the popularization of processed products is to introduce women and girls in urban areas to their consumption.
The project will also be used to raise awareness about preventive measures to fight against Covid 19. This project aims to bring urban women to introduce into the eating habits of their families, the consumption of processed local products and generate income for their own empowerment.
In the urban environment, the food mode, in the great majority of families, is based on manufactured products to the detriment of local products. Women’s groups and cooperatives are working hard to increase the conservation and availability of food beyond the seasons, while preserving its nutritional value and ensuring its safety. Nutrition-friendly processing processes can make healthy foods easy to prepare and therefore save time for other activities that increase women’s incomes and strengthen their leadership.
